What exactly did Meghan do to the toxic media
On Monday the 19th of september 2022, Her Majesty Queen Elizibeth II, was laid to rest her years of service, sacrifice, and duty at an end and reunited in peace with her husband Prince Philip.
The world watched as the pomp and ceremony, and the Great British public saying goodbye to our longest reighning monarch, and a constant in our lives since 1952.
In the weeks after her death, King Charles III took the throne, visibly irritable, and at times lashing out, I get it, I lost my mother in march of 2020, and my father just over a year later in 2021, and there may have been times that I was less than kind and patient, and that was without the glare of the worlds spotlight on me.
But while King Charles III took the throne, and William became Prince of Wales, Heir-apparent to the throne, the british tabloids started to obsessively critque everything that Meghan did and didn't do during the funeral.
Even the common act of wiping away a single tear bought out a barage of gammon faced third rate so called “journalists” calling the evidence of emotion fake and and a cynical attempt at gaining popularity.
It soon became clear that no matter what Meghan did, no matter how she carried herself, there was always going to be some has been or never was journalist ready to critisise, she could have saved a small child from choking and still been accused of eithe showboating or trying to make it all about her.
Meghan and Harry haven't enjoyed a moments peace since they got married, with the public reacting to stories of bullying and painting her as a sociopath, who founced around being malicious and vindictive, and somehow trying to destroy a centuries old family that has survived more than an American actress, it has survived rumours of royals locked away in institutions, royals who were Nazi sympatisers, rumurs of high level royals being involved in the death of Harry's mother.
It's been four years since Harry and Meghan got married, and in that four years the british media havn't given the couple a moments peace, so why all the hate? What has she done so bad to deserve the dehumanizing treatment?
The media has portrayed Meghan as malicious, vindictive even sociopathic figure with constant accusations of bullying her staff, she has been made out to be some kind of cartoon villan, yet when the accusations caused her to have suicidal thoughts, she was denied any help by the crown, and not one member of the royal family stood up in her deffence.
So should Meghan Markle receive an appology? Its a bit late for all that now I think, but the very least she deserves is to be left alone to raise her family with her husband, and not have to tip toe around the fragile ego of the british media, and the royal family, she shouldn't be tone policed by people who don't have to live her existence of an outsider who did nothing more than fall in love with a handsome prince, yet is paying the price for that love.
It's time we held the press to account on this, high profile journalist such as Piers Morgan, can't go an hour just lateley without saying something disgusting about her, there are public figures thaat have legitimatley said and done things that I find abohrant, but after I have had my say on their trasgretions, I don't continue to go after them, for example Sophie Corcoran, after her rant about single mothers on benefits, I pointed a lot out to her, but after she continued to spout some of the stupidest crap ever tweeted, it came to the point where I felt uncomfortable calling her out so much so I backed off, and while other people were willing to atack the way she looks, I can't do that, not least because I'm no oil painting, but also because I took issue with her views, not her as a person.
If I can hold myself to this kind of standard, then so can journalists, and whatever editor is green lighting this shit, they need to be honest about who they work for, is it the readership? Or the owner of the publication they work for? Because If its the former, can they really cite “in the public intrest” because this kind of journalism isn't there to serve the public, its to serve the rhetoric of the rich friends of the owner.
