Under the Tories, were all Bob Cratchit

Under the Dickensian Tories, that see food banks as a solution to poverty, and believe that if you can't afford to heat your home or stock the fridge, that you should work more hours or get a better job, its no surprise that their big idea to bring about an end to trade union action, is to outlaw industrial action.

With strikes set to happen over the Christmas period, by the RMT, NHS, Civil servants, and postal workers (so far), Prime Minister Rishi Sunak faces increasing pressure to bring in anti strike action laws, and basically remove the teeth of this particular tiger.

Some senior ministers are busying themselves trying to find ways to tighten anti strike legislation, one minister said to the financial times “if the Christmas eve strike goes ahead, we need to crack on with the anti-strike laws early in the mew year”.

We already have some of the most restrictive trade union laws in Europe, but the Tories will Tory, they have never been on the side of working people, their solution to ordinary people who are finding it hard to make ends meet despite in some cases, having what you would traditionally call well paid jobs, suddenly finding that their mortgage payments have doubled, and their energy costs, fuel costs, and food shopping have all increased, while MP's still fill their faces with subsidized meals, or claim their energy bills on expenses. as inflation grows, it is the government who are using the strategy to attack the unions, who, exist for the very reason of making sure that ordinary folks don't get ripped off by scrooge-esque employers.

This is obviously an attempt to remove the right to strike, I have worked in a company that had a union, a union that agreed to a no strike clause, with the employer, so union subs for nothing eh folks.

Commenting on PMQs yesterday, where The PM made further threats to the ability of workers to exercise their rights to strike for fair pay and working conditions, TUC General Secretary Frances O'Grady said

the right to strike is a fundamental British liberty. With inflation running at 11% The PM wants to make it harder for working people to win better pay and conditions”.

Public sector workers would love to be able to deliver minimum service levels. But 12 years of Conservative cuts and mismanagement have left our public services falling apart at the seams.

Rather than attempting cheap political pot shots, the government should be getting around the table and negotiating with unions about pay. So far, ministers have seemed more interested in sabotaging talks than trying to resolve disputes.”

The conservative party of the U.K. Are the cruelest they have ever been, I don't think they were even this cluel under Margret Thatcher, this is Victorian values, anti working class, bullshit, there is a line in Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol, when asked to contribute to charity, Ebinezer Scrooge asks “are there no workhouses? Are there no prisons? And when told that many would rather die than enter the workhouse, he replies Then they'd better do it, and decrese the surplus population

We are long past the hope that on Christmas Eve the Tory government will be visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and yet to come, the only hope is that at the next general election, we can see the last of these anti human self serving politicians, because right now, we are all Bob Cratchit, and we are one Conservative victory away from being tiny Tim.
